1. Scope and acceptance
Binding layer
These API Terms govern access to and use of the Raman Base Public API. They supplement the Terms of Use. If these API Terms conflict with the Terms of Use for API-specific activity, these API Terms control for that activity.
Plain-language guide · Non-binding
These extra rules apply when you use the Public API.
2. Credentials and security
Binding layer
API credentials are personal to the account holder, must be kept confidential, and must not be published or shared. You must promptly revoke compromised credentials and notify Raman Base of suspected misuse.
Plain-language guide · Non-binding
Protect API tokens and revoke any token that may be exposed.
3. Permitted use and limits
Binding layer
You may use the Public API for lawful research and service integration subject to documented technical limits. You must not evade limits, disrupt the service, probe security, misrepresent data provenance, or use the API to infringe rights or law.
Plain-language guide · Non-binding
Use the API responsibly, within published limits, and preserve provenance.
4. Data licenses and attribution
Binding layer
Each record-level license governs reuse of that record and prevails over general site statements. API responses must not be used to remove, obscure, or falsify source, origin, license, citation, or accuracy information.
Plain-language guide · Non-binding
Check each record's license and keep its provenance metadata attached.
5. Availability and suspension
Binding layer
The Public API is provided without a guaranteed service level. ISI CAS may apply limits, change non-guaranteed behavior, or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, stability, law, or material breach. Material API Terms changes will require renewed acceptance.
Plain-language guide · Non-binding
API availability is not guaranteed. Misuse may lead to suspension, and material term changes require acceptance.
6. Contact
Binding layer
Technical API questions should be sent to info@ramanbase.org. Legal and attribution concerns should be sent to legal@ramanbase.org.
Plain-language guide · Non-binding
Use info@ramanbase.org for technical help and legal@ramanbase.org for legal issues.
